Nicholas Cartwright, who plays police officer Cash Newman on Home and Away, is gearing up for a “huge” 2022 on the soap.
He teased the year ahead for his character in a recent interview with TV Week, saying, “He’s established up in the Bay now, he’s got relatives and a girlfriend, and everything looks fine.”
“However, everybody who knows the show knows you don’t last long…”

Jacqui Purvis, who plays Cash’s younger sister Felicity, continued, ” “It’s amazing to see how things are developing. But who knows about buried family secrets. Everything might change!”
Meanwhile, Cartwright is well-versed in the criminal justice system in Summer Bay.
“I’ve heard of the curse of the cops!” he noted. “I’m always checking the scripts closely to see what’s coming up. I’m not too worried, what could possibly go wrong? But it’s been great getting to know Cash and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”

“I get to transition from vulnerable and sensitive with my family issues and mental health to the fun side, which is that she is a little pocket rocket who has no filter. So it’s a huge, huge blessing and I’m just so grateful that I get to play it.”
