Can you believe the baby Grace will turn one? Nor can her mum, Tori, who this week finds herself in a frazzle to ensure the festivities go off without a hitch.
Tori (Penny McNamee) has been concerned with her new beau Christian (Ditch Davey) and brother Justin’s (James Stewart) rehabilitation in recent episodes of Home And Away-now her daughter is reaching a milestone and she’s barely got her head straight!
The party day arrives and Justin, who has been given a lengthy list of jobs to finish, is struggling to walk.
He chooses to hide it from his sister, but Leah (Ada Nicodemou) is afraid that he’s pushing too hard on himself.
Fortunately, Jasmine (Sam Frost) comes to the rescue of Tori, who’s in the midst of a cake crisis.
As the two friends try to repair the cake, they focus on the people who are not going to be celebrating with them: Mason (Orpheus Pledger), Brody (Jackson Heywood), and, most notably, Robbo (Jake Ryan), Grace’s father.
“Sam, 31, tells TV WEEK,” Jasmine’s always mourning the devastating loss of Robbo, so Grace’s first birthday is bittersweet.
Jasmine takes the moment to grab her special present, a bracelet with Robbo’s etched message on it, but Christian has arrived when she returns to the kitchen, and it’s as if she’s not there anymore!
Jasmine feels more on the outside than ever, as guests pile into the party. She can’t help but feel as if Robbo is seeking to be replaced by Christian.
“It’s a struggle to see this new family unit going forward and celebrating special achievements without Robbo,” Sam says.
“Jas can see, however, that Christian makes Tori and what he brings to her life happy.”
Attending with friends Irene (far left) and Marilyn (far right), Jasmine feels a bit left out.
It was only recently that Jasmine decided that she wanted to have a baby and told Irene (Lynne McGranger) about her plans for treatment with IVF.
Feeling as though in Grace’s life she’s no longer wanted, she concludes that she’s going to start sooner rather than later … and that means talking to her donor of choice, Colby.
She’s sure of his innocence and vows to bail him out, while the cop has been arrested.
Sam says, “Being around Grace reminds her how much she loves the thought of being a mum,”
Christian, Tori and baby Grace look a happy trio.
In the meantime, Christian is absolutely besotted with baby Grace and Tori, a trio that looks like the ideal family.
Penny, 37, says, “Christian lived his bachelor life, mostly on the road with no real home.”
In the form of herself and Grace, Tori gives him a family-a true home and a sense of belonging. Often she may behave like a hurricane, but Christian finds her endearing.
As she watches him mingle comfortably with the guests, Tori starts to wonder if this is the guy with whom she is going to raise a family …
“If, as Tori and Christian have, people meet later in life, they know what they want and things can move quickly,” Penny teases. “People, hang on to your hats!”
Is Tori ready for marriage and the hot doc’s other baby?
