Home and Away’s Sophie Dillman explains why she’ll be apart from co-star partner on Valentine’s Day

Sophie Dillman of Home and Away has revealed that she and her co-star Patrick O’Connor will not be spending Valentine’s Day together, despite the fact that they are in love in real life.

The couple, whose on-screen characters Ziggy Astoni and Dean Thompson are also in a relationship, have been together since 2019, but Sophie has revealed that this day of the year is always reserved for her close female friends.

“There’s a group of my friends who always go to a big all-you-can-eat Italian restaurant and celebrate the gals,” she told TV Week, adding that the group will spend the evening swapping dating disaster stories – even if she doesn’t have any to tell.

She stated, “I actually don’t have any horror stories.” “I mean, I’ve been lonely for several Valentine’s Days, but I’ve had no horror stories, so I guess I’m lucky.”

However, when Sophie and Patrick do go on a date, it won’t be anything extravagant, as the actress revealed that her favorite thing to do with Patrick has a quiet dinner at home.

She stated, “I love a home-cooked meal.” “Coming home after a long day at work and finding my partner has prepared dinner is my favorite thing in the world; he’s a fantastic cook, and we’ve shared some fantastic meals.”

But how would Ziggy and Dean be spending Valentine’s Day, particularly after enduring a year filled with so many challenges?

“I think [Ziggy] will definitely be spending it with Dean, they’ll probably go for a surf and have pizza and beer. That’s their dream,” Sophie said.

The star recently opened up about the challenges of acting out romantic scenes with her real-life boyfriend on Home and Away,

“Paddy and I are different to our characters so making their instincts seem natural when they aren’t our own is a good challenge,” she explained.
