She’s showing her vulnerable side.
When she’s not hanging around Summer Bay, Home and Away’s Ada Nicodemou is mum to son Johnas Xipolitas.
But the actor has spoken candidly about the struggle to balance work and home life.
Ada, 44, and her ex-husband Chrys Xiopolitas have an eight-year-old son named Johnas. She’s no stranger to an early morning or a late start, having worked on Home and Away for 21 years.
But Ada’s sleep, or lack thereof, is influenced by more than simply work.
Speaking with Stellar, the mum-of-one confessed that she doesn’t get as many Z’s as she’d like to these days.
“I don’t sleep,” Ada told the publication. “I’m a bit of an insomniac, so I naturally get up around 3-4am. I don’t know whether it’s because of waking up so early, my age, or what’s going on, but I get up anyway.”
The 44-year-old went on to say, “It’s either get up and start cleaning the home, which I do – don’t laugh – or go to the gym. If I’m being good to myself, I’ll go for a run or a gym session. The rest of the time is spent doing things like making lunches or cleaning the house “..
Ada gave birth to Johnas via IVF in 2012, but she split up with his father Chrys soon after, eventually divorcing him in 2016.
Despite the pain of her broken marriage, Ada found love again with millionaire Adam Rigby, 51, whom she met in 2016 following her nine-year divorce from her first husband.
“I’m smiling again. And I’ve got this great relationship. I’m a hopeless romantic. Life hasn’t beaten that out of me,” Ada previously said of Adam, while nchatting with Stellar.
In 2020, while speaking to TV WEEK, Ada admitted that Adam has embraced the role of stepdad wonderfully and made a commitment to helping her raise Johnas.
Ada told the publication, “Adam and Johnas adore one other; he’s such a terrific stepfather and has really stepped up.”
“It’s extraordinarily special for a man to come into my life and love a child as if he were his own – and to love me like I’ve never been loved before.”
“I rely on him a lot, which is a real first for me. I’ve never been able to do that before. I’ve always held the reins. So it’s nice to know he has our back – he’s a great man,” she added.
