A shock when the romance was over last week’s EASTENDERS resident Ruby Allen delivered her partner, Max Branning, but was her latest love interest cause friction between herself and her best friend, Stacey Fowler?
EastEnders fans cheered when Ruby Allen (played by Louisa Lytton) eventually ended her dwindling romance with Max Branning (Jake Wood) as her flirtations with Martin Fowler (James Bye) started To intensify. Now it looks like sparks flying between the pair as if they will close the deal-but are they going to leave Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) devastated on her return if they’re pursuing things?
Stacey fled the Square last summer with Martin and the young children of the pair after the feisty mother whacked Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) over the head. Phil was unaware of Stacey ‘s crime and believed it was Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) who delivered the blow to the head. However, due to threats from Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden), Stacey and Martin have decided they had to leave behind Walford. All of this changed last autumn when Martin decided to do a return to shock in order to try and repair things that would allow the return of his family.
His efforts did not pay off as quickly as he hoped and his attempts to keep Stacey away from Walford repeatedly had to up. One such badly backfired idea was when Martin told his wife he had been sleeping with his ex, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy).BBC audiences knew this was another questionable ploy by Martin to make sure Stacey stays out of harm’s way. She believed, however, that he was telling the truth, and that she was left heartbroken, leading to unexpected consequences for Martin. He was left devastated weeks later when, with a new boyfriend, Jerome (Chris Charles), Stacey had moved on.
Looking to be curtains for the marriage of Martin and Stacey, the latter briefly rekindled his romance with Sonia before moving on to An unexpected face. Stacey’s best friend, Ruby, was for a moment with Max a month or two, but it was clear that she was beginning to get bored with the relation. When Max proposed to her, she was taken aback and informed him that she was not sure, if she ever wanted to marry, she ‘d cast doubt on their future.
Ruby explained how she hoped to be in a more open relationship and was interested in seeing other people whom Max was not happy with.
He was reluctant to accept the idea, but he was furious when he discovered that She was sleeping with Martin. The pair of them had opened up to each other about their separate topics and ended up having a passionate night out over the festive season. Their flirtations have resurfaced in recent episodes after Ruby employed Martin as Head of Security at the club. This lead to a huge jealousy from Max and the pair ended up splitting up after Ruby realized that she couldn’t rule out anything going on with Martin again.
Ruby tells Martin about her Max split in scenes to come, leading stuff to heat up again between the pair. With it increasingly looking like the duo will admit their feelings to each other, can they decide to give things a go?
