BBC One airs the first episode of Secrets From The Square, an EastEnders special, with Stacey Dooley as a host on June 22.
The British soap opera EastEnders was hit hard by the global pandemic. In mid-March, she was forced to stop recording. Since then the show has run on a shortened schedule.
EastEnders goes off-air
EastEnders has run out of episodes to release after being airing for more than two months. The show has now recently decided to go off the air. The series has not disclosed any announcements regarding the date of its return as of press time. The break is expected to last through most of this summer though.
BBC One announces new EastEnders spinoff
BBC One has opted to produce EastEnders spinoff Secrets From The Square to compensate for the hiatus. Starting June 22, the spinoff will grace fans with storylines and moments from the famous EastEnders. In fact, it’ll even be filled with some news behind the scenes.
EastEnders’ Executive Producer, Jon Sen, after being asked to comment on the new material, said:

BBC One also revealed the roster of EastEnders stars who will be supporting Stacey Dooley in the upcoming spinoff. Two separate EastEnders characters will make an appearance in each episode of the season, which will air regularly. Danny Dyer will be appearing in the first season with his on-screen friend, Kellie Light. Apparently the latter will reveal a wardrobe malfunction she had initiated. The other celebrity pairings in the 2nd and 3rd week will be Letitia Dean and Adam Woodyatt (Sharon and Ian), James Bye, and Davood Ghadami (Martin and Kush), respectively. Afterward, Max Bowden and Tony Clay (Ben and Callum) and Diane Parish and Tameka Empson (Denise and Kim) will fuck follow the line-up in week 4 and 5.
