Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh has revealed that before joining the soap, she had a real-life crush on co-star Simon Gregson.
Yep, it seems that the actor who played him caught her attention back when she was a teenager, alongside her on-screen character Michelle Connor getting married to Steve McDonald.
She told The Light, “It was bizarre.” “When I started, I told Simon that I had a poster of him on my bedroom wall when I was younger.”
She recalled: “It was really strange. When I was signed to an indie record label in Manchester years ago, I remember meeting him. I was about 14 or 15 and this massive concert was going on, Dannii Minogue was performing, and Chesney Hawkes, that’s how long it’s been.”
“So I couldn’t believe the Corrie McDonald twins were there. “I recall seeing him and saying,” Oh my god, he’s so stunning, he’s so amazing. And so, years down the road, there
I am, Corrie, like his girlfriend. It was, he thought, hilarious.
As it turned out, the actress was not disappointed by finally meeting Simon and working with him, Kym adding: “He’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met.”
“It’s just the way he looks at you. With his smile, he’s smiling, and he’s doing the eye roll of Steve McDonald, which is cracking me up.”
