Before featuring in the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 season, she left Coronation Street in search of new projects.
And the next effort by Catherine Tyldesley is a brand new play she wrote and will be starring for a 10 performance run next month.
A host of former fellow soap actors in the play, including Sue Johnston, Paula Lane and Samantha Giles, will join the former Coronation Street actress, 37.
In the latest play, called The Ceremony, Stephen Rahman-Hughes and West End leading lady Jodie Prenger are both expected to star.
At the Leeds City Varieties Music Hall, the ceremony was recorded on stage and will be broadcast digitally for only 10 performances beginning on 13 December.
Both proceeds from the play will be donated to Acting And Others, as well as the Theatre Artist Fund and Leeds Heritage Theatres, an organization that has been badly affected by the pandemic.
Catherine Tyldesley says, speaking of her latest company, “I’m super excited about my first play going into production!”
During lockout, ‘I wrote’ The Ceremony.’ Along with one of my all-time favorite directors, the brilliant Lee Salisbury, I managed to assemble my dream cast.
Fiction has always been dear to my heart and it is nothing short of a dream come true to actually see my words brought to life by such amazing talent.
‘I’m optimistic people will enjoy the game as much as we do and I’m thrilled that at the same time we will raise funds for the arts.’
The play’s synopsis reads:’ After a series of appearances on daytime talk shows and armed with fifty quid’s worth of Bury Market Ayahuasca, the stage is set for Donna to make her first ever effort to contact the realm of the spirit.
What might go wrong, perhaps? As her oblivious guests purge themselves of their latent spirits, the night rapidly derails into madness, tears and laughter.’
As she took to Instagram to post a sensational workout snap, Catherine recently showed the hard work that goes into becoming a leading lady.
A matching set of green and black leggings and a sports bra that showed off her gym-honed abs were worn by the former soap star.
In order to disclose the full extent of her beautiful form, the actress raised her arms in the air and squeezed her biceps.
Catherine smiled at the camera for a photograph, her natural elegance being accentuated by a thin slick of lipstick and eyeliner.
Catherine explained in the caption that she had just hit a fitness milestone, explaining the importance of her workout pose.
After a big fight of hormone imbalances/injuries/meds a few months ago, the brunette beauty penned:’ It has taken quite a long time. But……but… Finally, my health is getting back on track!!! ‘
You will buy tickets to watch The Ceremony at-home online.
