The police are in hot water, but Joel Deering’s crimes will eventually come to light. On Coronation Street, it was previously revealed that the unscrupulous lawyer was responsible for Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance.
In flashback scenes on the ITV soap, he was seen to be the one to violently beat her, as he left the vulnerable adolescent for dead.
He then moved on to attempt to groom Sabrina (Luana Santos) but Lisa’s daughter Betsy Swain was onto him.
This was when Lauren returned in bomshell scenes to visit Roy (David Neilson) after his heart attack.
But in a surprising twist, she revealed that she was pregnant with his child after their whirlwind grooming relationship.
As her baby bump grew, Joel has been hiding her in his old flat which he told his fiance Dee Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) that he sold.
Lauren made preparations to move to Ireland, but Joel poisoned her with medication to try and induce a miscarriage.
Betsy recently opened up to her mum DS Swain (Vicky Myers) that Joel was threatening her as she showed her all their messages.
The detective sergeant pulled him in for informal questioning as her suspicions have been raised and she made a huge discovery about Lauren.
Dee Dee then found out the full truth from Lauren herself at the hospital and the realisation of what he was capable of finally sunk in.
Before they could report him to the police, he made a false statement to Kit (Jacob Roberts).
Although Joel’s secrets were on the verge of being properly revealed, DI Costello will have some bad news.
She tells her colleague Lisa that the force have not found enough evidence to charge Joel with any crime.
However, Joel is set to face more problems as the street starts to talk.
Daniel (Rob Mallard) was a previous suspect in Lauren’s disappearance, and he is set to ask Lisa about a new street rumour.
He heard that Joel secretly fed Lauren drugs in an attempt to try and abort her baby.
Meanwhile, Lauren heads off to the hospital for a visit with her baby son Frankie who is in a critical condition.
However, she has a nasty surprise waiting for her in the hospital as she comes face to face with Joel.
Will Joel finally be exposed for good or will his villainous ways continue?
