Naturally, it was not long before the minds of the audience started to turn to another old favorite, Steve Peacocke, who played Daryl “Brax” Braxton, one of the show’s most popular characters.

But although Steve’s on-screen brother delights fans with his return to shock, it’s unlikely that Brax will follow suit.

The Five Bedrooms star has insisted many times in several of his previous interviews that a Home and Away revival isn’t on the horizon.

In August 2019, speaking to TV WEEK, the actor was adamant that he didn’t intend to reprise his famous role anytime soon.

“It was an awesome, fun job, with really good people, but no. It’s one of those things – it’s nice to enjoy while you’re doing it, and if you want to stick around, stick around or move on,” explained Steve, who quit the show in 2016.

“I think where the storyline was left was about spot-on for me. I think it finished in a way that the audience really liked. It came to its best conclusion.”I think it was spot-on for me where the storyline was left. I think it ended in a way that the audience really liked. It came to its best conclusion.

He repeated the sentiment three years earlier when he talked to the same
Disclosure.

“For me, I left Home And Away at the perfect time. With any performance, you leave when they’re saying ‘This is really good’ instead of ‘Oh, gosh get rid of this guy.'” Steve said.

Since then, the actor has continued to play high-profile roles abroad and locally, including Me Before You, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, and Wanted. Apart from the Channel Nine drama Informer 3838 is his next major gig.

And with an increasing profile of different positions under his belt, Steve has previously clarified that instead of revisiting his past roles, he wants to keep moving forward and growing in his career.

Steve told the Who magazine in 2016 that he’d rather leave Brax in the rear—

“It’s a happy memory, but you don’t necessarily want to do it again.”
