Several actors who became household names have died as a result of the long run of EastEnders, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale.
There are a few soap actors among them who died when they were young.
They’re all going to be sorely missed.
David Scarboro, Gemma McCluskie, and Leah Bracknell are among the actors and actresses who died tragically young and are remembered by their loved ones.
David played Mark Fowler on the soap as one of the original cast members.
His life was tragically cut short when he was discovered dead at the bottom of Beachy Head in East Sussex in April 1988, at the age of 20.
Kerry Skinner, Zoe Slater’s close friend and Robbie Jackson’s girlfriend, was played by Gemma.
On March 6, 2012, she was discovered dead in London’s Regent’s Canal at the age of 29.
Tony, her brother, was later found guilty of her murder.
The Frankie Pierre actress was found dead in her Erith home in January 2016 at the age of 43, and her partner Arthur Simpson-Kent was later convicted of her and their two sons’ murders.
He was given a life sentence in prison.
At the age of 53, the Inzamam actor, who also appeared in Casino Royale and The Bill, was discovered dead at Splash Point Cliffs in Seaford in July 2013.
A coroner later ruled his death to be a suicide.
On September 7, 2002, at the age of 55, the Harry Slater actor died of a heart attack at his home in Willesden Green.
Andy O’Brien was a founding member of the EastEnders cast.
He passed away on October 16, 2006, at the age of 57, after a long battle with aggressive brain cancer.
Lyndam passed away on July 15, 2014, at the age of 59, from lung cancer.
In the mid-90s, he played Guppy Sharma on EastEnders, and in the early 1980s, he played Sammy Patel on Corrie.
After being diagnosed with lung cancer, the long-running Zoe Tate actress died on September 15, 2019 at the age of 55.
Sophie, who played Jimmy and Nicola King’s baby for three months in Emmerdale in 2009, died tragically in December 2012 at the age of three when her dress caught fire at her grandmother’s house in Skellow.
Paula Bronson, who appeared in both Corrie and Emmerdale and was married to criminal Charles Bronson, was found dead on July 29, 2019, at the age of 38, in a house in Stoke-on-Trent.
Paula’s death was ruled to be drug-related by a coroner.
