The EastEnders star with a well-known wife you probably didn’t know about

She has performed with one of the UK’s most well-known music duos.

On EastEnders, Scott Maslen’s character, Jack Branning, has had his fair share of ups and downs.

Away from the BBC soap, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant has a picture-perfect life, complete with a famous wife you’ve probably never heard of.

Jack has had a tumultuous relationship with the women of Walford since his arrival in Albert Square in October 2007, most infamously with sisters Roxy and Ronnie in one of the all-time great TV love triangles.

The actor’s personal life is very settled, with his wife, son, and a family dog named Chewbacca, despite his lack of luck with love on the soap.

Estelle Rubio, a music producer, and singer is Scott’s wife.

She has performed at venues such as the London O2, Green Meadows Festival, and London Fashion Week, and has sung with electronic duo Basement Jaxx.

The couple met on Primrose Hill in 1999 to watch the total eclipse and have been together ever since, marrying in 2008 in a lavish ceremony in front of 150 guests at a stately home.

Scott had roles in two other major TV shows prior to his time on EastEnders.

He played the good-looking Alex Burton in Heartbeat for 12 episodes in 2002. He went on to star in the hit police procedural The Bill as a series regular.

He played DS Phil Hunter, who was later promoted to Sergeant, in 240 episodes.
Hunter was a bit of a rogue, frequently running afoul of both senior officers and criminals.

In 2002, he joined the fictional Canley Borough Operational Command Unit, where he remained until 2007.

Scott left The Bill to join EastEnders as the morally ambiguous Jack Branning, and the rest is history.
