Iconic Aussie soaps Home and Away and Neighbours, with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Chris Hemsworth, Isabel Lucas, and Melissa George all beginning from one of these popular series, have become the breeding ground for some seriously important talent.

When he broke on the screen as Chris Harrington in 2013, Johnny Ruffo soon became Summer Bay’s resident loveable larrikin. He bid farewell to the Bay three years later, but not to TV entirely.

Ten revealed in June 2020 that Ruffo will join the cast of Neighbours in a guest role in Erinsborough, which is set to trigger a stir. “You can’t mess around,” he said of his scenes being shot. “It’s just [Neighbours and Home and Away] Australian royalty. It was such an awesome experience, and I’m lucky to have been on both shows now.”

Guy Pearce is one of the most popular faces for hanging out on both the sandy shores of Summer Bay and the cul de sac of Ramsay Street. In 1986, Guy first popped up as Mike Young in Neighbours. The troubled teen made quite the way out of the show, playing heartthrob Josh Barrett from 2013 to 2016.
In the 2015 season finale, Josh shot and fatally injured Charlotte King (Erika Heynatz), after discovering that Charlotte was responsible for the death of Denny Miller (Jessica Grace Smith) and that she knew the part that Andy Barrett (Tai Hara) played in the death of Jake Pirovic (Fletcher Humphreys).
Josh, who was sentenced to 20 years behind bars, escaped and went on the run.
