The main question is this that when EastEnders will return? There’s no confirmed clarification at the time of writing about when EastEnders will be back on the air. However, the break is set to last through most of the summer. EastEnders is set to start shooting in the weeks to come, but Digital Spy believes that the show runs on a turnaround time of around six to eight weeks from filming to air.
Filming under the current safety regulations, however, is likely to take longer, with the number of people permitted on set drastically limited upon their return at any time. Make-up artists will also not directly apply makeup to the cast but instead guide them.
The show anticipates that these extra problems will mean scenes taking longer than usual to shoot and edit. Therefore, the slower pace would suggest that new episodes are estimated to arrive at the earliest, but possibly September, the end of August. This fast and ever-changing situation, of course, means that nothing is currently set in stone.
EastEnders executive producer Jon Sen said: “Although the Albert Square drama will be off our screens for a short time, we are thrilled that fans will have a great opportunity to see from the cast itself what it is like to be part of EastEnders when they see EastEnders: Secrets From The Square.”
