Young & Restless Spoilers: Traci’s Path Leads to Heartbreak — or Something Much More Dire?

Published

on

Young & Restless’s developing romance between Alan and Traci has them both ecstatic. It’s the stuff of dreams—the clever repartee, the flushing, the grasping of hands and hugs. Sadly, we worry that everything is too beautiful to be true and that the idyllic Parisian couple is going to become a real nightmare!

Traci just brought her new man home, if not to meet the family because he already knows them thanks to Ashley’s troubles, then to officially present him as her boyfriend. We all knew the Abbott men would be protective of their sweet older sister, after all, she’s the heart of the family. Well, we were not disappointed. Although Billy and Jack were welcoming and warm toward Alan, and thanked him for helping Ashley, they also peppered the man with questions regarding his intentions where Traci was concerned.

Meeting the moment, Alan charmed the pants off of everyone at the table. So, why can’t we just accept that Traci’s finally found love with the handsome psychologist and be happy for her?

Well, it all started back in Paris, when Traci announced she had to go to Los Angeles for a meeting about one of her books, which was being made into a movie. Alan’s response was, well… unexpected. The esteemed psychologist shrugged off a bunch of professional obligations to traipse around the globe with his gal. It should have been uber-romantic, but instead it raised a red flag… and for at least one Young & Restless fan, it raised four red flags:

Looking around the living room, Alan told Traci he wanted to “take it all in”, which was a bizarre remark to make considering how many times he had been there before. Traci actually pointed it out. Alan found a way to cover, but for us, doubt was creeping back in.

Next, they trotted off to Society for lunch, which is where they met up with Billy and Jack. Alan was the picture of a besotted boyfriend throughout, and one could almost cast off those silly suspicions… until the end scene. When Billy asked how this would work going forward, Alan surprised everyone by announcing that once Ashley was done with her in-patient treatment he was happy to leave Paris in the rearview mirror, leave his practice and speaking engagements behind, and move to the United States to be with Traci!

This huge gesture of committment clearly impressed Traci, but also took her off guard. It’s a massive, life-changing move to make so early on in a relationship. Perhaps that’s why it came across, once again, like Alan wasn’t behaving very… Alan-like.

Combine that with the previous creeping doubts and it left viewers asking if this man might not be Alan at all, but instead his evil twin, Martin. Indeed, fans began to panic at this point:

Now, we know what you’re thinking… Martin died in the fall off of the balcony. There’s no way this could be the evil twin because we know what he and Alan were wearing when they took the fatal tumble during their fight. Alan was wearing a casual knit shirt in a bluish grey, and Martin was wearing a grey sweater over a button-up shirt. After the tragic fall it was definitely Alan who came back into the house in the casual shirt. There was simply no way there was time for Martin to recover from such a fall, and swap clothes with his dead twin in the time it took for Ashley to run down the stairs and outside!

The only problem? Young & Restless is a soap opera. On soap operas almost anything is possible. Including people coming back from the dead, and evil twins quickly seizing an opportunity to impersonate their dead brother in the moments following a deadly fall onto pavement. And that is why we think Traci is headed for heartbreak, and possibly much, much worse! Jump into the comments to discuss.

Y&R Spoilers: Kyle Betrays Victor? – Claire Embraces Romance

Published

on

By

According to spoilers for The Young and the Restless (Y&R), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is ordered to fire Claire Newman (Haley Erin), even if he does not want to.

On the other hand, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) expects complete loyalty from his staff on all issues, even personal ones. Since Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) is Victor’s grandson through Summer Newman (Allison Lanier), the circumstances combine the two.

Kyle’s cold interactions with the woman who warmly embraced and adopted his son led to his bond with Claire. So, her termination as Harrison’s nanny will be a tough call. He may be forced to make that decision.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Claire Newman Has Career Options

Devoted fans know that Claire’s recent conversation with her grandmother signaled an eventual career shift. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) confided in Claire while they and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) were at Society.

While Nikki couldn’t mention Victor’s specific plan to obtain Chancellor and have her lead it, she did make an offer.

Telling Claire that she valued her as an assistant in the past was affirming. Nikki ensured her that all was forgiven about the past deception because Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk) led that effort.

Claire has an attachment to Harrison but doesn’t necessarily have to retain her role as his nanny to continue. Her growing feelings for Kyle trend toward a relationship beginning. If achieved, that’s how she can maintain her link to Harrison.

Y&R Spoilers – Victor Newman Is Helping His Granddaughter

Summer asked Victor for his help. She wanted him to help persuade Kyle, with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) shuddering at that development.

While Kyle can’t cut Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) off, he can tell Claire that he no longer needs her to watch Harrison. He could play this off as appeasing Summer.

Testing Kyle may not lead to Victor immediately firing him. He serves a useful purpose while Glissade is being positioned to rival Jabot.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kyle Abbott Is Defiant

Kyle is not in the mood to take orders from anyone. The reprehensible way he is treating his parents reflects a bitter, immature person.

Kyle’s parents are Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). But he treats them like enemies, and his perceived betrayal at Jabot is nothing more than his ego running amok.

But Kyle can’t defy Victor without some consequence. Something will happen if he follows the advice and removes Claire as Harrison’s nanny. Victor, not Kyle, will determine what that is.

If the above plays out, Claire will need to reassess her choices. Her view of Kyle may temporarily change, and she will likely revisit Nikki’s offer to work with her again.

Y&R Spoilers: Sally Picks Love Over Trust – Adam Continues Deception

Published

on

By

Spoilers for The Young and the Restless (Y&R) reveal that Courtney Hope’s character Sally Spectra has mistrust for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Devoted fans are aware of her devotion for him, nevertheless. The most powerful force in the universe is love. It forces people to make decisions that appear or are not rational.

So, there are various ways to interpret Sally’s choice to make amends with Adam and her subsequent actions.

Meanwhile, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) loves Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and knows he deserves the truth. That is a mega problem for Adam.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson Learns From The Past

Chelsea does not celebrate her grifter past. Her mother, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach), taught Egan’s character how to deceive people to make a living.

Devoted viewers recall Chelsea was paid by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to con Billy, who the late, great Billy Miller then played. She conceived Billy’s child in Burma, and Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) was born.

It would be a great accomplishment if Billy were merely on speaking terms with Chelsea. But it is impressive to think that they are in a committed relationship. That is one factor driving her to tell him what happened with Adam in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sally Spectra Wants A New Path

When that character was on The Bold and the Beautiful, Sally was not the most honest soul in Los Angeles, California. Moving to Genoa City, Wisconsin, allowed her to walk on a new path.

After some stops and starts, she met Adam. He is the current love of her life, which makes dealing with his behavior impossible.

Sally wants to believe that Adam learned from their breakup and the loss of their expected child, Ava. However, the suspicions she and Billy have been discussing since Adam and Chelsea returned from Baltimore have reopened the insecurity that being with him creates.

The way Sally confirms Adam and Chelsea’s relationship will be necessary. She wants him to be honest, but can he do so?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Rejects Common Sense

Adam’s impulse was understandable. He feared losing Sally and destabilizing Chelsea’s life.

However, Adam fears most dealing with the consequences of his actions. What he and Chelsea did was wrong. It is foolish to believe that it is okay to hide that reality from their romantic connections.

This is daytime, so the truth will come out. When it does, Adam’s rejection of common sense will force Sally to decide whether she can stay with him. The same will be true for Billy with Chelsea.

A supposed period of growth is seen in a new light. Adam believes that lying for a reason is okay. But his ends never have and don’t justify the sordid means he’s taken.

“Young & Restless Takes a Dark Turn: Prepare for a Heartbreaking Repeat of Tragedy and Broken Hearts”

Published

on

By

I feel like I’m saying the same things about Young & Restless every week. That could be as a result of the same offerings. Recycled plots from the past, mental health issues, or juggling corporate jobs. In the end, though, it seems like we’re kind of stuck here—some work, some don’t. We have a ton of “dark” things coming up, including broken hearts and a potentially disastrous repetition of history.

The Great Grovel

Why is Michael groveling to get back in Victor’s good graces? The man was ready to retire when Victor dragged him kicking and screaming back into the game. Why, after that Jordan debacle, would he be begging for another chance at being mowed over by the egomaniac, and why does he allow him to condescend to him the way he does? Make it make sense.

Chemistry Experiment

Cheers to the thaw between Kyle and Summer because their bickering had become hella annoying and, like so many plots these days, didn’t make a lot of sense. As for Claire and Kyle, that’s a chemistry-free pairing if I’ve ever seen one. No zing, no tension, no one buying them as a match. The only hope they have of making this interesting is by morphing Claire into a character as complex as she should have been from the get-go. Having Victor get involved (per the preview) is probably designed to have us rooting for “Clyle”. I’d rather see her go dark after Victor forces Kyle to fire her.

Claire Kyle Y&R

Corporate Fatigue

Billy, who moved me with his reaction to Chelsea’s confession this week, seemed emotionally exhausted. Perhaps because he had already taken his anger out on Lily. I would love to see her fight back, but worry that Billy will suck her back in and use her as a shoulder to cry on. Perhaps Lily will team with the Newmans and become Nikki’s co-CEO. Young & Restless absolutely loves to do co-CEOs so there are enough executive positions to go around… and around… and around. The corporate story fatigue is real.

She Deserves It

Victor as the mystery investor is the worst-kept secret in Genoa City, and Audra and Kyle are dumpster fire co-CEOs, but the Abbott family emotional stuff is compelling. Kyle is finally lashing out at Diane the way he should have when she first came back. She deserves it! People went crazy when Phyllis let her kids think she was dead for a week. Diane let Kyle think she’d been brutally murdered while she was alive and well in L.A. for most of his life! Find out what’s ahead for another Abbott, as Traci faces heartbreak or much worse.

D’oh!

Adam is a lot of things, but stupid has never been one of them. Young & Restless is telling us he can evolve as a son, father, brother, whilst remaining absolutely clueless about how to be a good partner. A 5th grader could tell you that lying is only going to make it worse, and Sally and Adam have already been down this road with him denying what is obvious and gaslighting her. He lost her for the exact same reasons the last time and it wasn’t all that long ago!

It didn’t make sense that Adam would lie to Sally’s face right after Chelsea had left his place declaring that the only way forward was to confess. He was clearly freaking out inside when he read Chelsea’s text, but it shouldn’t have surprised him in the least. Of course, Adam’s lies will be blown sky-high when Billy shows up drunk and ready to rumble. Does “Ally” stand a chance? Sally and Adam’s fate as a couple is revealed here.

Go Big or Go Home

love that the writers found a way to bring Cameron back, but as I said in a previous soapbox, if this is only going to amount to Sharon psycho-analyzing herself in her living room, that’s going to be disappointing. The premise should be a license to go big, dark, soapy, or all of the above with Sharon’s story, but it’s not happening thus far despite the fabulous performances. Of course, we know we’re headed for a devastating repeat of history with Lucy and Faith when they land in the hospital following a car accident (that will presumably involve Lucy drinking again), but it’s hard to believe this writing team won’t stop short of offering up huge consequential drama. If the girls are both OK, perhaps the scare will drive Sharon off the deep end. We can only hope.

The opinions expressed are my own. Please feel free to drop your thoughts on Young & Restless in the comment section.
