Spoilers for Young and the Restless (Y&R) reveal that the soap show has recently given mental health issues a lot of attention.
The daytime drama is dispelling myths and stigmas surrounding mental health, with cases such as Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) dissociative identity disorder (DID), as well as a focus on what happens when medication isn’t taken—looking at you, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case). Maybe they could focus on teen sadness next?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lucy Romalotti Is Struggling To “Fit In”
Y&R spoilers indicate that being a teenager is hard, even in Genoa City. Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) has been blown away by Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster).
She’s gone to extreme lengths to impress the college student and wants nothing more than to be Faith’s bestie.
Unfortunately, there’s a bit of an age gap between the two ladies. This won’t necessarily matter when they are in their 20’s; however, a college student hanging around with a high schooler is awkward.
Sadly, the harder Lucy tries to push a friendship with Faith the more Faith withdraws. Considering the situation, Faith is actually being a very kind young lady by hanging out with Lucy, but people can see that disaster is on the horizon.
The two hit a major snag when they went to a concert together recently and Lucy smuggled alcohol to the venue. She was a little tipsy and Faith immediately noticed brought her home.
Y&R Spoilers – Lucy Romalotti Did Come Clean
Both Lucy and Faith came clean to their parents about what happened. This likely means that Lucy will face some repercussions for her actions; however, being honest may have scored her some points.
She might get grounded, but Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei), and Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) won’t throw the book at her.
Still, will Lucy suffer from some teenage depression? She has to feel more than embarrassed about what happened and considering Faith’s reaction (which was justified) Lucy will likely spiral into a depression.
This storyline offers the Y&R a great opportunity to take a realistic look at teenage depression, and possibly erase any stereotypes and misconceptions that are out there.
Lucy could land in a dark place, and considering her dad’s issues before he returned to Genoa City, there will be great cause for concern.
