EastEnders is lining up some big scenes ahead on the BBC soap, with plenty of chaos and even some nostalgia.

David Wicks twist
Two icons collide amid an epic return, resulting in quite the bombshell. David Wicks (Michael French) makes his big return to the BBC soap next week amid his daughter Bianca Jackson’s (Patsy Palmer) turmoil.
But what he isn’t expecting and clearly hasn’t been told about is the fact ‘dead’ Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is very much alive and back in Walford. After more than 20 years away, Michelle Collins reprised her role last year with Cindy revealed to have been alive all along.
As far as her ex flame David was concerned, Cindy had died in prison back in the 90s. While all of Walford found out last year, it seems not everyone got the memo.
Next week David and Cindy come face-to-face with him discovering she had never died. He has loads of questions for her, understandably, as they speak for the first time in two decades.
Kat’s horror
Next week, Kat informs the boys that Alfie (Shane Richie) has landed a job at the Minute Mart, but financial struggles continue to weigh heavily on her mind. With the Moon family’s money troubles worsening, a desperate Tommy devises a plan to steal from the café. However, his ill-advised scheme is foiled when Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) catches him in the act.
Kathy confronts Kat, urging her to take a firmer approach with Tommy. But when Kat tries to talk to her son later, the situation escalates, and Tommy becomes physically intimidating. As Jay Brown’s (Jamie Borthwick) 30th birthday celebrations kick off, Kat and Phil (Steve McFadden) receive a touching video message from Lola Pearce, who passed away from a terminal brain tumour last year. Unfortunately, Tommy’s behavior dampens the mood.
A return
Denise Fox (Diane Parish) returns to Walford, shocked by the news of Pastor Clayton’s death. During a heart-to-heart, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) talks to Denise about the importance of honesty and truth, triggering guilty Denise into opening up in a vague way about her lies over the club crush.
Yolande’s words weigh heavy on Denise’s mind and in a shocking move, she steels herself to tell Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) the truth about her daughter Chelsea’s involvement in the club crush – but will she really go through with it?

EASTENDERS couples are always being put through the wringer but it seems Honey Mitchell and Jay Brown’s romance could be coming to an end as they struggle to move past their recent troubles.
Honey (Emma Barton) has recently taken a backseat to the drama on EastEnders, while her other half, Hay (Jamie Borthwick), has been thrust into the spotlight…
and not for the best of reasons. He is battling to keep the spark alive in his relationship as his battle with Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) continues, as the two of them have been bickering over what is right and wrong. Honey may need to pack her belongings in forthcoming scenes on the BBC serial, as it appears that yet another romance may end in disaster. Could a fresh start be beneficial to her while the ghosts of her past haunt her in Walford?
Honey has taken control of her destiny in recent months, quitting her work at the Minute Mart due to her unpleasant supervisor Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).
Janet Mitchell (Grace), the mother of two, has started to consider alternative choices for herself after assisting her daughter with her modeling and acting career.
The adored character will have an announcement to make to Jay by the end of next week’s episodes of the evening serial drama.
The young businessman is taken aback when he learns of his partner’s new initiative, and he warns her that it will be difficult for her.
Honey is irritated by her boyfriend’s lack of support and sets out to show him that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to.
This, however, may cause Kate to consider her future in Walford and if she and Jay will be able to stand the test of time.
She may opt to leave the Square, knowing that she needs to start her own business without any hostility.
This would be the end of her relationship, and Jay would be devastated at the idea of losing his best friend.
Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) always warned his ex-wife that their relationship would end badly, but she had no idea how swiftly it would.
As the businessman pleaded for a second opportunity, the mother of two would hold firm and told him she would not change her mind.
This would not be Honey’s first departure from Walford, but it is likely to be her last, as she believes the Square holds too many negative memories of her failed relationships.
She first departed in 2008, when she felt she couldn’t be married to Billy any longer after three years and moved in with her father.
By 2014, she was making cameo appearances on the serial to discuss the custody of their children with her ex-husband and how she intended to send Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips) to Canada to pursue a modeling career.
It was good at first, but when his contract with the agency was not renewed, Honey chose to return to be closer to the children’s father.
Since then, she’s been a fixture on the Square, starring in a number of high-profile stories, including developing an eating issue and being drugged by a stranger.
Honey’s departure was forced onto the actress who plays her, Emma, by executives who believed it was time for the character to depart.
Although the soap actress was ecstatic to be able to pursue new options in her profession, she expressed her disappointment in having to say goodbye in multiple interviews.
“Despite what others said, I honestly felt there was more mileage for her,” the actress remarked in an interview with the Daily Star.
“However, given that she hasn’t been killed, I suppose there’s still a chance she could return one day.”
“I was in such a bad mood since I had to leave.” She added at the time, “I’ve had a great experience,” and she repeated the remarks in another interview.
“I will miss everyone,” she told The People, “and I already miss going to work every day and being a part of the show.”
“I’m in a bad mood. “I didn’t want to leave,” she remarked, but producers have taken Honey down a variety of paths since her return in 2014.
It might be a complete circle moment for the mother of two to watch her leave as she finally becomes the confident lady viewers have always known her as.
She will have learned a lot about relationships, friendships, and how to stand up to bullies throughout her time in Walford.
It would be sad for the actor who plays Jay, Jamie, to see his co-star leave if she does make an exit as it seems the young soap star has always wanted them to have an on-screen romance.
Explaining how he first met Emma, Jamie said: “Perry [Billy] told me to chat her up, and I remember walking over to her and saying, ‘Alright darlin’…, wow, you smell nice.’
“It brought the house down and we still laugh about it now.
“I love working with Emma. I won’t say what it is, but we have something in common that’s very rare and very special that brings us together.
“I still try and chat her up and say that one day, we’ll get married, but she’s having none of it,” the actor told The Sun

As a stunning discovery is revealed, things between Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in EastEnders continue to shift.
Following his arrest in late 2021, Phil was given the choice of becoming a police informant and assisting in the destruction of Aidan Maguire and his gang, or spending the rest of his life in prison.
As a Mitchell, Phil was understandably conflicted about the option, but he ultimately chose to go to prison rather than assist the cops.
Kat tells Phil that it’s not fair for him to continue be close to the kids when he’s leaving so soon.
When Henry pays Kat a visit, she flirts with him on purpose, which makes Phil envious.
His anger growing, Phil orders Henry out which annoys Kat.
When Kat receives a phone call from Tommy, the time for bickering is cut short.
Phil freezes as he realizes he hasn’t picked him up from school.
Kat and Phil are shocked to see Tommy has been banged up when he arrives home.
In addition to coping with the bullies, Kat is concerned about how her children will be affected if Phil is sent to prison, so she informs Phil that it is time for them to go.
Jean (Gillian Wright) knocks some paperwork over while Kat is packing some luggage, and Kat is taken aback by what she discovers.
But what is it?
And how will this discovery impact things with Phil?

EastEnders killer Gray in brutal downfall as former colleagues take action?
Gray Atkins, the murderer of Chantelle EASTENDERS, managed to stay under the radar for nearly a year after her death. Now, though, he is being pursued from all sides. Gray Atkins, the murderer of Chantelle EASTENDERS, managed to stay under the radar for nearly a year after her death. Now, though, he is being pursued from all sides. Will Whitney Dean and Kheerat Panesar’s accusations be verified by his former law firm colleagues?
Whitney (Shona McGarty) and Kheerat (Jaz Deol) from EastEnders recently decided to work together to take down Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith). They’ve been attempting to catch the BBC soap villain off guard, with Kheerat attempting to gain Gray’s trust by getting close to him. Gray was fired as a lawyer by his supervisor last year, who suspected him of being aggressive and had even warned Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) about him. Will Kheerat and Whitney be helped by his old colleagues, who have the legal knowledge to back up their claims? Alan Collins, a partner, and specialist in Hugh James Solicitors’ abuse team, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about Gray’s future.
Gray murdered Chantelle (Jessica Plummer) more than a year earlier following years of domestic violence.
He staged her death as an accident and then went on to murder other individuals while attempting to hide his tracks.
However, it appears that he may finally be brought to justice since citizens of Walford and his former coworkers suspect him.
Alan commented to Express.co.uk about Gray’s honorable act: “Abusers come from many sectors of life, as we all know, but we also know that they can be cunning and manipulative. The appearance of respectability can be used to deceive individuals who are capable of acting.
“We can all fall for this and have to be alive to that risk. It can be hard to puncture that protective covering.
“Talking about it helps, and the storyline is therefore doubly powerful.”
“The professional could be reported to his/her regulatory body,” Alan said, alluding to Gray’s fellow lawyers who suspect him.
Alan continued when asked about the police in EastEnders not taking Whitney’s concerns seriously: “In the past, the police have been chastised for failing to effectively respond to reports, especially in high-profile incidents culminating in death.
“Both the police and the courts have taken a lot more muscular approach in recent years, but recent homicide instances where a kid was slain, there was a domestic violence backdrop, and subsequent investigations demonstrate on-going failures across authorities to communicate with each other, compounding danger.”
It’s probable that Gray’s old boss had reported him, but nothing was done owing to a lack of evidence.
However, since Whitney has now filed a police report, an inquiry may be launched.
Laura (Sarah Paul), Gray’s ex-colleague, was always wary of him and advised Chelsea to avoid him.
She made it plain she was on to him when she told him he had been fired last year.
“Your run-in with the police for public indecency this month was a step too far,” she told him. “So I’m afraid we have no choice but to terminate your employment.”
Growing angry, Gray argued: “I wasn’t arrested.”
Laura replied: “Even so, hardly appropriate for a criminal solicitor and definitely not a good look for the firm. Please be assured, your case was reviewed thoroughly.”
Smirking, Laura later said: “We thought it would be in your best interest to get it over with, rather than you do the walk of shame in front of your colleagues. Ex-colleagues.”
She confirmed: “I read those vile messages you sent me online. We both know it was you. So if you even think of appealing, I’ll make sure everyone knows what kind of man you really are.”
“You’ve got no proof and I could have you done for unfair dismissal,” Gray yelled.
Laura called him: “The man who thinks he’s smarter than everybody else, especially a black woman.
“With no job and no money, there’s going to be nothing for you to hide behind. Everyone will see you for the nasty little misogynist you really are.”
It’s possible that Laura’s report on Gray is investigated following Whitney’s police report.
Whitney may decide to contact folks Gray used to work with in order to gather evidence wherever she can.
Could Laura provide her with expert counsel in order to prove Gray’s poor character?
It’s possible that the lawyers are assisting Whitney because they are aware of Gray’s capabilities.
