General Hospital Spoilers: Sonny and Jason Take a Stand Against Jack – Will Carly Choose Sides?
General Hospital Spoilers: Carly’s Critical Condition and the Threat of Jack Brennan
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is in critical condition after being poisoned. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will do whatever it takes to keep Carly safe from Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), who is ultimately responsible for her poisoning.
How Far Will Sonny and Jason Go to Protect Carly?
In this week’s episode, Valentin Cassadine attempted to eliminate Jack Brennan, but Carly ended up as the unintended victim of the polonium poisoning. Carly is still fighting for her life in the hospital. Meanwhile, Jack Brennan is consumed with fear, guilt, and anger over the consequences of his actions.
The question remains: what lengths will Sonny and Jason go to in order to shield Carly from further danger posed by Jack? Stay tuned to see how the story unfolds!
General Hospital Spoilers: Jack’s Role and Valentin’s Manipulations
Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) understands that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) poisoned Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) by lacing the champagne with a deadly toxin. Furious, Jack is determined to make Valentin pay for his actions, as he has now become one of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) main adversaries.
Carly’s Near-Death Experience Due to Jack’s Actions
Jack is particularly shaken because Carly almost died while under his care. When Sonny confronted Valentin with a gun over the interference with his bipolar medication, Valentin quickly spun a story to redirect the blame onto Jack. He claimed that Jack had ordered the tampering and threatened Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) to force him into it. However, unless the show is planning a retcon, Valentin was deceiving Sonny. It was clearly Valentin’s own decision to tamper with Sonny’s medication.
Jack’s Involvement in Valentin’s Long Con
In the past, Valentin bribed a Pentonville guard to stop the prison van while transporting Jack so they could have a private conversation. During this meeting, Valentin confided in Jack about his long-term plan to manipulate Sonny into a complete mental breakdown by tampering with his medication. Jack, preferring a quicker and more direct approach like shooting Sonny, agreed to the plan but was uncomfortable with its slow pace.
Valentin’s Backup Plan
Currently, Valentin is focused on eliminating Jack or finding someone to do it for him. He believes that the shot fired at him, possibly in Prague, was ordered by Jack, but that isn’t the case. It was Colette Moreau (Mercedes Renard Lopez) acting on her own. Misunderstanding this, Valentin has made several attempts on Jack’s life, both in Germany and recently in Port Charles. As a backup, Valentin fed Sonny false information, hoping that the mob boss would take action against Jack. However, Sonny’s goal isn’t to kill Jack but to remove him from Carly’s life entirely.
What Will Sonny and Jason Do?
Valentin is actively trying to eliminate Jack or find someone to do it for him. He believes that Jack was behind the shot fired at him, possibly in Prague, but that’s not the case—Colette Moreau (Mercedes Renard Lopez) acted on her own in that situation. This misunderstanding is the reason Valentin has made multiple attempts on Jack’s life, both in Germany and recently in Port Charles.
To cover his tracks, Valentin spread misleading information to Sonny, hoping it would prompt him to take action against Jack. While Sonny is indeed preparing to confront Jack, his goal isn’t to kill him. Instead, Sonny and Jason plan to remove Jack from Carly’s life for good.
Carly’s Unwavering Attraction to Jack
While Valentin tried to manipulate Sonny into having Jack killed, it’s unlikely that either Sonny or Jason would even consider going down that path. Doing so could result in serious consequences, such as their arrest or becoming targets of the WSB. Moreover, even if they attempted to eliminate Jack, they would face a significant problem—Carly. She would never allow Sonny or Jason to carry out such an act, and it would be something she could never forgive them for.
Carly Was Warned, But Carly Doesn’t Listen, Will Jack?
Despite multiple warnings, especially from Jason, Carly has consistently ignored advice to stay away from Jack, especially considering his increasingly suspicious behavior. From the moment Jack arrived with a kidnapper’s toolkit on the day of his arrest, it was clear he had intentions to abduct her. Yet, Carly has chosen to follow her own instincts. Right now, she’s determined to continue her connection with Jack Brennan, no matter the risks or warnings.
‘Jackly’ May Endure, Whether Sonny and Jason Approve or Not
Sonny and Jason may ultimately have to respect Carly’s decisions, even if they strongly disagree. If Carly chooses to stay with Jack, it’s likely she will get her way. She seems to be growing closer to him, and Jack has already shown that he cares deeply for her as well.
This could mark the beginning of their romantic journey, and while it may not sit well with Sonny and Jason, fans are eager to see how it unfolds. However, if Carly learns about Jack’s involvement with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), that could introduce a new set of challenges.
