Fans fretted for Toyah’s fate

Spoilers for Coronation Street fans are afraid that Toyah Battersby, who had surgery last night to treat her ovarian cancer, will die in the operating room due to complications. Following Toyah’s diagnosis, medical professionals raced her to the hospital, where they are getting ready to perform surgery.

Nick helped Toyah at the hospital while sister Leanne, at Rowan’s request, stepped back to focus on her responsibilities with the Institute. Additionally, Nick waited outside for updates as she underwent surgery.

Nick and Leanne rush to Toyah’s side as she suffers complications during surgery

News which, when it came, wasn’t good. The doctor informed Nick that there had been complications during the surgery. As Toyah’s life hung in the balance, Nick called Leanne – who rushed to her sister’s side, at last.

As Toyah lay, heavily sedated in the hospital bed, Leanne re-iterated her love for Nick, apparently beginning to realise how distant she had been.

ITV Coronation Street: Rowan’s Exit ‘Confirmed’ as Icon ‘Takes Down’ Sinister Institute

Watchers of Coronation Street are certain that Rowan Cunliffe’s (Emmerys Cooper) time in Weatherfield is running out.

Supporters of Coronation Street are confident that Emrhys Cooper’s character Rowan Cunliffe is going to leave Weatherfield because Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is expected to uncover the truth about The Institute. The head of this wellness “cult,” Rowan, has been trying to con Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) into giving him money by saying it will be a beneficial investment in a new resource center.

The self-help group has already ensnared Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) causing friction in her relationship with Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).

However, in Friday’s episode of the ITV soap (August 23), Rowan persuaded Amy to leave her job at the bistro, much to Nick’s annoyance.

Rowan craftily suggested to Amy that she could make a substantial amount of money by investing in The Institute instead of working in a menial job.

Amy had previously considered using the inheritance she received from her grandmother Deidre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride) for this purpose.

Luckily, her friend Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) convinced her not to risk all her savings and to question Rowan further about how she would recover her investment and any potential profit.

Despite Aadi’s cautionary advice, Amy continued to trust in Leanne’s judgement.

However, upcoming scenes show Rowan persisting with his scheme to take Amy’s money.

In episodes airing next week, Leanne confronts Rowan who tells her that Amy is undergoing an ‘upload’ and is also reconsidering investing in the resource centre, reports..

Amy

Leanne gets a shock during Amy’s upload session when she realises Rowan is covertly recording their conversation as she talks about past traumas.

Amy Barlow’s intention to discuss investing her inheritance doesn’t win the support of her grandfather Ken Barlow (William Roache), while The Institute meddles too far with Amy, igniting the wrath of her feisty mother Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford).

Corrie fans are now buzzing with anticipation that Tracy may be the one to bring about Rowan’s downfall.

Fans have taken to social media to express their eagerness for Tracy’s retribution. One viewer posted: “Tracy’s gonna upload her boot up Rowan’s a*** and kick him out of the street #Corrie.”

Another eagerly awaits the showdown: “Cannot wait for the Tracy v Rowan battle. Tracy will tear him to shreds. #corrie”, while another suggests: “Tracy is gonna destroy Rowan. She’s dealt with much worse than him. And killed them #Corrie.”

Further comments foresee violence: “Can’t wait when Tracy knows about Rowan. Hope she punches him one #corrie”, and others recall past altercations: “Hope Tracy sorts out Rowan like she did with Charlie. #Corrie.”

Fans of Coronation Street have already begun speculating about what might occur when the soap opera celebrates its 65th anniversary in December 2025. Some fans have called for a significant comeback and a mass murder on the cobbles.

Fans of Coronation Street have already begun to speculate about how the ITV soap opera will commemorate reaching its 65th anniversary next year.

Viewers are already aware that managers celebrate significant holidays with gusto. The plot of Corrie’s 60th anniversary episode in 2020 focused on Ray Crosby’s plans to demolish most of the street and Yasmeen Metcalfe’s outcome during her trial for attempting to kill her violent husband Geoff Metcalfe.

It was the first anniversary special in the 21st Century not to feature a live episode, which was a tradition that started with the 40th Anniversary Live Special back in 2000. Plans for the upcoming anniversary are yet to be revealed but it hasn’t stopped avid fans of the show to start predicting what might happen as Corrie turns 65.

Fans will remember the live episode to mark Corrie’s 50th anniversary back in December 2010, which featured a tram crash resulting in the deaths of Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold), Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) and an unnamed taxi driver.

Taking to Reddit, one user predicted that bosses will plan a similar tram crash that will “kill off” huge characters.

Corrie enthusiasts have been sharing their wild wishes for the soap’s 65th anniversary, with one fan suggesting on social media: “Another tram crash in multiple directions that kills off most of the cast.”

Another chimed in with a similarly dark twist: “A good bus crash on a community trip to the lakes – with fatal consequences this time for a number of cast members.”

Killer returne

Pat Phelan

The theories don’t stop there as viewers are also predicting the return of a notorious character. Despite being killed off in 2018, some fans reckon Pat Phelan could make an earth-shattering return amidst the current Institute group plot.

Lottery win

Corrie

Not all predictions are doom and gloom though as another Corrie watcher has envisioned a heartwarming Lottery win storyline. They posted: “I would love an ‘At Home With The Braithwaites’ storyline.

Someone on the street wins millions in the lottery and doesn’t tell anyone. They set up a business and/or a charity, anonymously help out friends and family. Something that touches everyone on the street and lasts for months.”

Viewers will have to hold their breath and see if any of the predictions come true when the soap celebrates its major anniversary in December 2025.

After six years of playing Evelyn Plummer on Coronation Street, Maureen Lipman, a star of the ITV soap opera, has now discussed her plans to leave the show.

Evelyn Plummer from Coronation Street has been illuminating our screens, and actress Maureen Lipman talked about her ongoing journey on the program.

Six years prior, Alan Halsall’s character Tyrone Dobbs explored his family history and found his grandmother Evelyn Plummer, played by Maureen Lipman. Evelyn has been a mainstay of the show ever since, living in the same house as Tyrone, Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine), and his kids Ruby (Macy Alabi) and Hope (Isabella Flanagan).

The arrival of Evelyn’s daughter Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney), earlier in the year brought fresh intrigue to the formidable elder’s life before she fully settled in at the notorious number nine.

Maureen Lipman, now 78, recently joined Alan Titchmarsh on his show Love Your Weekend With Alan Titchmarsh to reflect on her illustrious career, including her spellbinding stint on Coronation Street.

Evelyn is embroiled in a significant storyline as Tyrone’s former flame, Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu), returns, revealing she had his son Dorin. However, with the traffickers still on her tail, Alina has requested to leave Dorin temporarily with him and Fiz until the trial concludes.

The question remains, when will it be safe for her to return?
